Behavior Supports
Marshall Pediatric Therapy is adding to our behavior therapy by providing services from pediatrics to adulthood through behavior support. Behavior Support extends into the home and community beyond ABA therapy and continues those services from clinic to home.
What are Behavior Supports?
Behavior Supports is a person-centered approach designed to address the underlying causes of challenging behaviors. By understanding and addressing these root causes, we can help individuals develop positive behaviors and thrive in their environments.

Who is Eligible for Behavior Supports?
Individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities who currently receive services through Kentucky’s 1915c Supports for Community Living and Michelle P Waivers. Behavior support services are offered on a case-by-case basis by a Behavior Support Specialist.
Marshall Pediatric Therapy’s Behavior Support Specialists
Behavior Support is provided by a specifically a trained Behavior Support Specialist who utilizes a model of Positive Behavior Support. They provide a range of services that support a person’s ability to lead a fulfilling life. Services identify challenges in the environment and implement strategies that can be used to:
Reduce a person’s problem behaviors and Increase replacement behaviors to improve independence
Behavior Specialists utilize interviews, observations, and environmental assessments to develop a support plan and supporting materials to share with the person's team members in order to increase positive relationships for the person they serve.

Contact your case manager to request Behavior Support Services. Your case manager will then submit a referral to the Marshall Pediatric Team.
Once approved, your Behavior Support Specialist will coordinate with your team to begin services.
