Specialty Services

Our team of specialized Occupational, Physical, Speech, Mental Health, and ABA Therapists specialize in specific treatments to ensure excellent care for your child and family.

Our Excellent Specialized Services

The specialties listed below require additional training that we offer our clinicians beyond the standard therapist training.

ADHD Assessments

Our mental health therapists and psychologists provide thorough ADHD assessments to help parents understand if ADHD is impacting their child's behavior. We also explore other potential factors, such as anxiety, learning disabilities, or sensory issues, that could be influencing attention and focus. Our goal is to ensure an accurate diagnosis and guide you toward the best support for your child.

Aquatic Therapy

Pediatric aquatic therapy is a great alternative to land therapy to help children meet strength, range of motion/flexibility, balance, coordination, endurance, and walking goals. The buoyancy of the water helps reduce human body weight and allows children to move in ways they simply can’t on land. In addition, aquatic therapy uses the properties of the water to achieve therapeutic gains and work on skills that may be too difficult to perform during land-based therapy.

Our therapists complete an advanced Aquatic Therapy Training before treating children in the water.

Brachial Plexus Injuries

We provide specialized care for children with brachial plexus injuries. Our therapists complete an advanced Brachial Plexus Continuum training before treating this condition, ensuring expert, evidence-based care.

Our approach focuses on: Early intervention to promote healing and prevent complications, targeted therapy to strengthen muscles, improve flexibility, and restore movement, Sensory training to enhance nerve function and awareness, and family education and support to empower caregivers throughout the process.

Body Weight Supported Treadmill Training

This specialized therapy uses a treadmill system with a harness that supports a portion of your child's body weight, allowing them to practice walking in a safe and controlled environment. By reducing the weight placed on their legs, children can develop proper gait patterns, improve coordination, and build strength without the fear of falling.

BWSTT is beneficial for children with conditions such as cerebral palsy, brain and spinal cord injuries, developmental delays, and musculoskeletal disorders. Through consistent training, it helps improve strength, endurance, balance, and overall walking ability. As children gain confidence and control, therapists gradually reduce the level of support, encouraging more independent movement.

Infant Massage

Backed by expert training and a deep understanding of early development, our therapists guide families in using gentle, purposeful touch to promote relaxation, motor development, and emotional connection in their babies.

Infant massage is more than a soothing experience—it’s a developmental tool. Using light, rhythmic strokes, parents can help stimulate their baby’s nervous system, support digestive comfort, enhance circulation, and build crucial early motor skills. Massage has been shown to support fine motor development, encourage body awareness, and even improve feeding by helping with latching and sucking coordination—making it an especially helpful strategy for babies who are picky eaters or experiencing feeding difficulties.

Our trained therapists work closely with families to teach personalized infant massage techniques, ensuring they are tailored to your baby’s individual needs and sensitivities. We also help parents learn how to read their baby’s cues, choose the right time for massage, and create a calm, nurturing environment for this bonding experience.

We take a collaborative approach, integrating insights from our occupational, physical, and speech therapists to provide well-rounded support for your child’s growth. Whether you’re looking to ease gas discomfort, encourage better sleep, support motor milestones, or deepen your connection with your baby, infant massage can be a gentle but powerful step forward.

Child Centered Play Therapy

We offer Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) for children ages 3 to 10 who may be experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, or relational challenges. This specialized therapy provides a safe and consistent environment where children can express themselves through play, helping them process emotions, build coping skills, and develop healthier behaviors.

CCPT is a one-on-one, child-led intervention that uses the natural language of play to help children navigate complex emotions and experiences. Instead of focusing solely on verbal communication, our trained therapists provide a supportive space where children can explore their feelings, develop problem-solving skills, and gain confidence in their ability to manage challenges.

The benefits of CCPT include improved emotional regulation, decreased disruptive behaviors, enhanced social skills, and increased self-esteem. By allowing children to express themselves freely in a structured and supportive setting, they can work through difficulties in a way that feels natural and empowering.

Constraint Induced Movement Therapy

Constraint-Induced Movement Therapy (CIMT) is a specialized intervention to support children with limited use of one arm or hand due to neurological or developmental conditions.

CIMT works by gently restricting the stronger arm or hand—typically with a soft cast or mitt—encouraging the child to use their weaker side during therapy and daily activities. This focused approach helps rewire the brain (neuroplasticity), promoting increased use and function of the affected limb over time.

CIMT is especially beneficial for children with conditions like cerebral palsy, brachial plexus injuries, stroke, or hemiparesis, who may tend to rely heavily on their stronger side. Through repetitive practice and positive reinforcement, CIMT helps improve movement, grasping, coordination, and independence with tasks such as dressing, feeding, and playing.

Our therapists carefully design CIMT programs that are age-appropriate, motivating, and family-centered. We provide ongoing support, parent education, and home programming to ensure your child’s progress continues beyond the therapy setting. With the right guidance and encouragement, children often gain not only improved physical function—but also greater confidence in their abilities.

Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI)

DMI uses a series of dynamic exercises to stimulate the nervous system, promoting neuroplasticity and helping children achieve important developmental milestones like sitting, standing, and walking. This cutting-edge therapy is designed to help children with motor delays develop strength, coordination, and functional movement.

DMI is beneficial for children with a wide range of conditions, including cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, global developmental delay, hypotonia, genetic disorders, spinal cord injuries, acquired brain injuries, and other motor impairments. Regardless of cognitive ability or the severity of the condition, children can benefit from targeted exercises that strengthen the brain-body connection and improve movement patterns.

Each DMI session is tailored to the child's specific needs, focusing on movement against gravity, postural control, and progressive challenges that encourage greater independence. Therapy may take place on a tabletop or the floor, incorporating a variety of sensory and motor exercises to build strength, balance, and coordination over time. These exercises are repeated until the movements become automatic, helping children gain confidence in their mobility.

Our therapists undergo specialized training in DMI to ensure they are equipped with the latest techniques and research-based strategies. This advanced education allows us to provide high-quality, individualized care that supports each child’s unique developmental journey.

Electrical Stimulation (E-stim)

Electrical Stimulation Therapy (E-Stim) helps children improve mobility, strength, and independence in their daily activities. This therapy uses gentle electrical currents to stimulate muscles and nerves, encouraging movement and functional improvements in children with neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.

E-Stim can benefit children from infancy through age 18 who have conditions such as cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury, Erb’s palsy, brachial plexus injury, spinal cord injury, or those recovering from Botulinum Toxin injections. By targeting specific muscle groups, this therapy helps children regain strength and control over their movements, supporting their overall development and independence.

Our highly trained therapists integrate Electrical Stimulation Therapy into individualized treatment plans to best support each child’s unique needs.

Written Language Disorders/Therapy

We specialize in evaluating and treating Written Language Disorders, helping children develop the skills they need for written communication. Written language disorders can impact a child’s ability to express thoughts clearly in writing, organize ideas, use correct spelling and grammar, and understand written material. These challenges often affect academic performance, self-confidence, and overall communication skills.

Children with written language disorders may struggle with forming letters, structuring sentences, organizing paragraphs, or understanding the connection between spoken and written language. These difficulties are commonly associated with conditions such as dyslexia, language-based learning disabilities, and other developmental delays.

Our highly trained speech-language pathologists use evidence-based interventions to target areas such as spelling, sentence structure, written organization, and grammar. Therapy may include multisensory strategies, structured writing exercises, and assistive technology to support a child’s ability to communicate effectively through writing.

Our therapists complete specialized training to assess and treat written language disorders, ensuring that each child receives individualized support tailored to their unique needs.

Feeding

Our Pediatric Feeding Therapy program helps children develop the skills needed for safe, effective, and enjoyable eating. Many children experience feeding challenges due to medical conditions, sensory sensitivities, oral motor delays, or behavioral difficulties. Our highly trained occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists use evidence-based techniques to address a wide range of feeding and swallowing difficulties.

Feeding therapy is tailored to each child’s unique needs and may focus on oral motor exercises to strengthen the muscles needed for chewing and swallowing, sensory integration strategies to help children who struggle with food textures, temperatures, or flavors, and food chaining techniques to gradually introduce new foods in a structured, comfortable way. Therapy may also include postural and positioning support to promote safe and efficient eating, behavioral strategies to reduce stress and anxiety around mealtimes, and parent education to provide families with tools to support feeding progress at home. Sessions are designed to be engaging and interactive, using play-based techniques to make eating a positive experience while working closely with parents and caregivers to encourage healthy feeding habits.

Feeding therapy can benefit children who have difficulty chewing or swallowing, experience food aversions or picky eating, struggle with transitioning to solid foods, or have oral motor weakness affecting sucking, biting, or drinking. It is also helpful for children with sensory processing difficulties that make certain textures or tastes overwhelming, as well as those with medical conditions such as cerebral palsy, prematurity, reflux, tongue or lip ties, or neurological disorders that affect feeding. Additionally, children who rely on bottle feeding, tube feeding, or have limited food intake may also benefit from therapy.

Only therapists who have completed specialized Pediatric Feeding Continuum training provide feeding therapy. This ensures that children receive the highest level of care based on the latest research and best practices.

Intensives

Our Intensive Therapy program provides a highly focused approach to physical, occupational, and speech therapy, helping children achieve significant progress in a shorter period of time. Unlike traditional therapy, which takes place weekly or biweekly, intensive therapy involves daily sessions over a set timeframe, allowing for greater repetition, skill development, and faster functional improvements. This structured model is designed to accelerate progress toward therapy goals, helping children build strength, coordination, communication skills, and independence more efficiently.

Intensive therapy can benefit children with a variety of conditions, including cerebral palsy, developmental delays, prematurity, stroke, spina bifida, hypo/hypertonia, chromosomal abnormalities, syndromes, acquired brain injuries, and developmental coordination disorder. We have also expanded our program to include speech therapy intensives, providing targeted support for children who need concentrated intervention to improve speech, language, and communication skills.

To ensure the highest level of care, our therapists complete specialized training in intensive therapy techniques. This includes advanced coursework, hands-on instruction, and mentorship to provide evidence-based, high-impact interventions. Our team is committed to delivering individualized, high-quality intensive therapy sessions that help children reach their fullest potential.

Lactation Consulting

Our therapists are specially trained in lactation consulting to support families through a wide range of infant feeding challenges. Whether you're experiencing difficulties with breastfeeding, bottle refusal, low milk supply, or concerns about weight gain, our lactation specialists provide personalized, evidence-based support tailored to your baby's unique needs.

Our approach goes beyond basic feeding techniques—we assess oral motor development, positioning, latch, and possible underlying concerns like tongue or lip ties (TOTs). We also work closely with families to create manageable and effective feeding and pumping schedules, helping to support milk supply, reduce stress, and establish healthy routines.

Our goal is to make feeding a positive and successful experience for both baby and parent, while offering compassionate care and expert guidance every step of the way.

Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration (MNRI)

Masgutova Neurosensorimotor Reflex Integration (MNRI) is a treatment strategy that focuses on assessing and integrating primary movement patterns, known as reflexes, that are essential for survival and development from in-utero stages through infancy. These reflexes form the foundation for sensory-motor processing and emotional regulation. When these reflexes are disrupted due to trauma or neurological conditions, it can hinder a child's motor skills, social-emotional development, and learning abilities. Therapists using MNRI techniques aim to facilitate the maturation of these reflexes, promoting improved sensory-motor processing and emotional recovery.

This treatment strategy is beneficial for children who have experienced events or conditions that interrupt the integration of primitive reflexes, leading to reduced access to higher-level motor skills, social-emotional development, and learning. This includes children with conditions such as cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorders, developmental delays, and those who have experienced trauma affecting the brain and central nervous system. By addressing these foundational reflex patterns, MNRI techniques support improved motor function, cognitive abilities, and emotional well-being.

Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT)

Several of our therapists are specially trained in Neuro-Developmental Treatment (NDT)—a hands-on, evidence-based approach used to support children with movement challenges related to neurological conditions. This advanced training allows our team to provide high-quality, individualized care that helps children move, function, and participate more confidently in their daily lives.

NDT focuses on improving motor control, posture, and functional movement by using guided, purposeful movements during therapy. These techniques help a child’s brain and body work together more effectively, promoting more natural and efficient movement patterns across different environments—at home, school, and in play.

This approach is especially beneficial for children with neuromotor diagnoses such as cerebral palsy, stroke, developmental delays, traumatic brain injuries, and other conditions that impact muscle tone, coordination, or balance. NDT helps children gain strength, improve mobility, and increase independence in everyday tasks like sitting, walking, dressing, and feeding.

We believe in meeting each child where they are and helping them build the skills they need to thrive. Our therapists use NDT techniques as part of a customized treatment plan designed to maximize your child’s abilities, participation, and quality of life.

Pelvic Floor

Our specialized pelvic floor therapy addresses bowel and bladder dysfunctions, providing personalized care tailored to each child's needs.

Children who might benefit from pelvic floor therapy include those who have been toilet trained for at least a year but still experience leaks or accidents, have difficulty with toilet training past age five, suffer from nighttime leaks, diagnosed constipation, prolonged bathroom routines, pain during urination or bowel movements, leakage during activities like sports or laughing, recurrent urinary tract infections, difficulty "holding" the urge to urinate, or consistent fecal staining in their underwear.

Our comprehensive evaluation process involves reviewing medical history, assessing voiding patterns, diet, and posture, and may include an optional visual inspection. Treatment plans are individualized and may incorporate exercises, biofeedback, and education on healthy bathroom habits. We emphasize collaboration with families, providing guidance and support to ensure effective management and improvement of pelvic floor-related issues.

Our dedicated therapists are committed to delivering compassionate and effective care, empowering children and their families to achieve optimal pelvic health and enhance their quality of life.

Sensory Processing

Sensory training focuses on helping children regulate their responses to sensory input, such as touch, sound, movement, and visual stimuli. Some children may be overly sensitive to certain sensations, while others may seek out intense sensory experiences. These challenges can affect their ability to focus, interact socially, and participate in daily activities. Through structured, play-based activities, we help children gradually process sensory input in a way that is comfortable and functional for them.

Children who benefit often have difficulties with self-regulation, attention, coordination, or social interactions. Sensory processing challenges are commonly associated with conditions such as autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, developmental delays, and anxiety. By engaging in sensory activities tailored to their specific needs, children can build tolerance, improve focus, and develop the motor and cognitive skills necessary for daily life.

We are committed to providing expert sensory training that empowers children to thrive in their environments. Through personalized therapy plans and a compassionate approach, we help children gain the confidence and skills needed to navigate their sensory world successfully.

Serial Casting

Serial casting is a non-invasive technique used to gradually stretch tight muscles and improve joint alignment. This process involves applying a series of lightweight fiberglass or plaster casts to the affected limb over several weeks. Each cast is carefully adjusted to gently increase the muscle's length, allowing for improved movement and function. This approach is commonly used for conditions such as cerebral palsy, toe walking, clubfoot, and other musculoskeletal or neurological disorders that result in limited range of motion.

Children who benefit from serial casting often have difficulty with walking, balance, or performing daily activities due to tightness in their muscles. By progressively lengthening these muscles, serial casting can help improve posture, gait, and overall motor function. In many cases, it is combined with physical &/or occupational therapy to maximize results and support long-term improvements in mobility.

Our skilled therapists are committed to providing expert serial casting services in a supportive and child-friendly environment. By utilizing this proven technique, we help children move more freely, participate in activities with greater ease, and enhance their overall quality of life.

Skills Based Training

We offer Skills-Based Training to help children develop the essential abilities needed for daily activities, social interactions, and academic success. Our therapists undergo specialized training to provide individualized support, ensuring that each child gains the confidence and skills necessary to thrive in their everyday environments.

Skills-based training focuses on building functional abilities such as fine and gross motor skills, communication, self-care, problem-solving, and social engagement. Through structured, play-based activities and hands-on learning, we help children strengthen their independence and adapt to various challenges. This approach is beneficial for children who struggle with motor coordination, executive functioning, sensory processing, or social-emotional development.

Children with developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, or other learning differences can greatly benefit from this training. By targeting specific skill areas, we empower children to navigate their daily routines more effectively, whether it’s improving handwriting, developing social skills, enhancing self-regulation, or increasing independence in dressing and feeding.

We are dedicated to providing expert, individualized skills-based training in a supportive and engaging environment. Our goal is to help children gain the tools they need to build confidence, succeed in their daily activities, and reach their full potential.

Torticollis

Torticollis occurs when the neck muscles become tight or imbalanced, often causing a child’s head to tilt to one side while rotating to the opposite side. This can lead to difficulties with feeding, vision development, and motor skills if left untreated. Through gentle stretching, strengthening exercises, and positioning strategies, our therapy helps restore proper alignment and improve a child’s ability to move their head freely.

Early intervention is key to successful treatment. Infants and young children diagnosed with torticollis—whether from birth (congenital torticollis) or acquired later—benefit greatly from physical therapy. Our approach encourages symmetrical movement patterns, preventing long-term issues such as muscle imbalances, flat head syndrome (plagiocephaly), and delayed motor milestones.

Our compassionate team is committed to helping children with torticollis achieve improved mobility, comfort, and overall development. Through individualized treatment plans and caregiver education, we support families in promoting healthy movement patterns for their child’s growth and success.

Total Motion Release (TMR)

TMR is a hands-on technique that focuses on using the body's natural ability to heal by addressing imbalances and asymmetries. Unlike traditional therapy that often targets only the affected area, TMR works by releasing tension and restrictions in other parts of the body to create better overall movement. This approach allows children to gain more control, coordination, and strength in their daily activities.

Children who benefit from TMR may have conditions such as cerebral palsy, scoliosis, torticollis, hypermobility, developmental delays, or muscle imbalances that affect their posture and movement. TMR helps improve flexibility, reduces compensatory patterns, and supports greater independence in motor tasks like walking, sitting, and reaching.

We are dedicated to utilizing innovative techniques like TMR to help children move with greater ease and confidence. By addressing the body as a whole, our therapists create individualized plans that promote long-lasting improvements in mobility, comfort, and overall well-being.

Tethered Oral Tissues (TOTS)

Tethered Oral Tissues (TOTs) occur when the soft tissues in the mouth—such as the tongue, lip, or buccal (cheek) ties—are restricted due to tight or thick connective tissue (frenulum). These restrictions can limit movement and range of motion, affecting a child's ability to nurse, chew, swallow, and articulate sounds. Our team conducts thorough assessments to determine whether a release procedure (frenectomy) is necessary. If a release is recommended, we provide pre- and post-operative therapy, including stretches inside the mouth and guided exercises to prevent reattachment and promote optimal healing.

Children with TOTs may experience difficulties with breastfeeding, bottle feeding, excessive drooling, trouble transitioning to solid foods, speech delays, mouth breathing, or sleep disturbances. Our therapy focuses on improving oral motor function, increasing tongue and lip mobility, and strengthening muscles for better feeding and speech. We also provide parent training to ensure families feel confident in performing at-home exercises and supporting their child’s progress.
